DENVER, USA // Ernest Toney is the founder of BIPOCANN, a company that is working to make the legal cannabis industry more accessible and profitable for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals in the Americas. His company bridges industry gaps in BIPOC representation through advocacy, consulting, and a national network that connects cannabis companies to diverse businesses and suppliers.
Prior to BIPOCANN, Ernest managed global marketing initiatives for Marijuana Business Daily, the leading B2B news source for the cannabis industry in the US and Canada, and producer of MJBizCon – the award-winning trade show and expo for cannabis professionals, held annually in Las Vegas. During his tenure, Ernest grew global partnerships for the company’s family of brands and led marketing campaigns that increased attendance at MJBizDaily’s business conferences in North America, South America, and Europe.
Ernest currently serves on the Board of Directors for USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of Ultimate (frisbee) in the United States. Before transitioning to the cannabis industry, he spent 5 years at USA Ultimate, where he oversaw the growth and expansion of the sport’s athlete programs, in addition to serving as a U.S. National Team manager.
